PROJECT COMPONENTS
The improvements being considered for the Lake Avenue project are divided into four main components:
Bicycle Facility Improvements
The corridor will be evaluated to determine the feasibility of implementing the recommended facilities as specified in the MBATP, including:

Advisory bike lanes
Shared lanes

Bike boulevards
​
Improved crosswalks
Intersection Improvements
Intersection improvement alternatives will be evaluated at the Wilmette Ave./11th St. offset intersection, including a potential roundabout. Evaluation criteria may include:

Traffic analysis operations
​
Safety analysis​
​
Pedestrian and cyclist accommodations
Impacts on adjacent properties, including the Ouilmette Historic District
Roadway
Rehabilitation
Total roadway rehabilitation
Installation of extensive tree protection measures

Replacements of curbs and gutters
Installation of curb-line drainage structures and storm sewer laterals
​
ADA-compliant curb, ramp and crosswalk improvements
​
Driveway apron and parkway restoration items
Water Main Improvements
Replacement of existing conveyance main
​
Replacement of aged 24-inch transmission main
​
Replacement of all lead services within the project limits
